Fiesta Toy Appoints Vice President of Sales

iesta, a manufacturer of plush toys, recently announced the appointment of Rich Hammond as vice president of sales, according to a press statement from the company. Hammond joined Fiesta to head its sales and business development functions. He has worked previously for SKM Enterprises and Van Aken International and has over 30 years of sales experience and more than 12 years of sales management experience in the toy and gift industry.

“As Fiesta continues to grow, Rich complements our commitment to serving our customers through exceptional sales support and leadership,” said Michael Lauber, Fiesta’s president and CEO, in the statement. “He has a comprehensive understanding of the plush marketplace and of the needs of our clients. His motivational management style and track record for building highly motivated and effective sales teams will be a tremendous benefit.”


Obituary: Robert (Bobby) Epstein

obert (Bobby) Epstein passed away in his home in Malibu, Calif., last November. Born in New York September 30, 1941, Epstein received his BS from NYU in 1963. He was associated with ENCO, one of the foremost souvenir suppliers in the industry.

He moved to California and worked with Barry-Owen and became a sales representative primarily specializing in T-shirts for close to 40 years. He retired in 2002 to go back to cooking school and graduated as a master baker. He loved cooking, horseback riding and telling jokes. He was a great storyteller.

Epstein is survived by his wife Victoria, a son James, a daughter Janine and his sister Barbara Mayfield. He was a pioneer in our industry and will certainly be missed.
