AmericasMart Atlanta
hrough a partnership with AmericasMart,
Association for Christian Retail (CBA) retailers
will be able to easily see their suppliers as
well as 4,400 temporary booths and 2,100-plus permanent
showrooms at the January 11-15 Atlanta
International Gift & Home Furnishings Market in
Atlanta, Ga.
The show, which will highlight CBA member suppliers,
will feature an Inspirational Gift section. CBA
has worked with AmericasMart to present Christian
retailers with the opportunity to enjoy money-saving
benefits such as a CBA Member breakfast, a worship
gathering, and training opportunities.
“Any Christian retailer attending AmericasMart is
serious about growing their gift department,” said
CBA President Bill Anderson in a press release. “So
we are providing targeted education for these gift buyers
at the opportune time and place they are focused
on their gift departments.”
AmericasMart announced the winners of the Best
of Atlanta Awards at the Atlanta Fall Gift & Home
Furnishings Market® featuring The Atlanta Gourmet
Market®.

Dallas Market Center
Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale
resource, and the Accessories Resource Team (ART)
recently announced a 10-year partnership. This strategic
alliance includes long-range plans designed to further
enhance ART and promote the decorative accessories
industry.
Dallas Market Center and ART have been partners
since 1989, working together to support manufacturers,
retailers, sales representatives, designers, and other
industry partners via conferences, seminars, business
assistance programs, and special events such as the
ARTS Awards, according to a press release from the
center.
Denver Merchandise Mart
The Denver Merchandise Mart will hold its Gift,
Jewelry and Resort Show February 21-26 for permanent
showrooms, and February
23-26 for temporary exhibitors.

major destination in the

products. The Denver Show is

San Francisco International
Gift Fair® will focus
on what sets the city apart as a

Green products and museum gift resources will be prominent at the fair, January
26-29, 2008 at the Moscone Center.
A list of companies offering museum resources
and special programming on museum store profitability
will complement a market spotlight on The
Museum Source® division. A “Green Display” will
highlight eco-friendly merchandise.Buyers will also
get a green resources list, according to a GLM press
release.
GLM has announced that the Winter 2008 edition
of EX•TRACTS®: New discoveries in beauty
and wellness, will run Saturday, February 2, through
Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at New York City’s
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Venue availability
in the city necessitated this one-time shift to a
Saturday-Wednesday date pattern.

The California Gift
Show® will unveil a “lifestyle-
inspired” layout and a
new show floor venue for
complimentary programs
called “The Platform.” Set
against a backdrop of extraordinary
beaches and an
exciting new downtown, the
show will attract 22,000
buyers and feature 1,200
exhibitors of the gift industry’s latest creations, January 18-21, 2008, at the Los
Angeles Convention Center.
GLM and dmg world media have finalized an
acquisition agreement — seven years after their initial
partnership and three years ahead of dmg world
media’s option to purchase a majority interest - to
make GLM a wholly owned subsidiary of the global
exhibition and publishing company, as of October 1,
2007.
TransWorld Exhibits, Inc.
The Halloween Industry Association Inc. (HIA) is collaborating
with TransWorld Exhibits, Inc. for the second
year to manage and produce the 2007
International Halloween Show. The show will take
place on Monday, December 3, through Thursday,
December 6, 2007, at 1115 Broadway in New York
City.
The show, owned by HIA, reaches national and
regional retailers from North America and Europe,
including mass-market retailers, party stores, drug
stores, supermarkets, variety and gift stores, discounters,
and other national and regional retail outlets.
Urban Expositions
In honor of Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties
Magazine’s 45th anniversary, Urban Expositions
will host a special anniversary party during the
December 2-5, 2007 Grand Strand Gift & Resort
Merchandise Show. Scheduled for Sunday evening,
December 2, the party will begin after the show closes
for the day at 6 p.m. at Club Boca located at
Celebrity Square in Myrtle Beach. Exhibitors and
buyers can join in the celebration and enjoy free
drinks, food, and music.
In other news, Urban Expositions is gearing up
for a strong winter show season. The Philadelphia
Gift Show returns to the Greater Reading Expo
Center, January 5-8, 2008. The Miami Beach Gift
Show returns to the Miami Beach Convention
Center Saturday, January 19 through Monday,
January 21, 2008. The Orlando Gift Show returns
to the Orange County Convention Center, January
26-28, 2008. In addition, Birdwatch America heads
to the Georgia International Convention Center
from January 12-13, 2008.
