Craft & Hobby Association
he organizers of The Craft & Hobby
Association (CHA) Winter Convention &
Trade Show have fine-tuned the comprehensive
educational offerings for the February 10-13, 2008,
edition in Anaheim, Calif. From business-building programs
designed to complement each product category
on the show floor and new hands-on Demo-narsSM, to
a special Scrapbook Retailing track, inspiring morning
general sessions, new “lunch n’ learn” programs, and
more, the 2008 program promises to help craft and
hobby members gear up for the coming year, according
to a press release from the association.
After a full day exploring the tremendous selection
at the show, attendees can travel back to the golden age
of Hollywood as this year’s special show event heads to
the Hollywood Pictures Backlot at Disney’s California
Adventure® Park. Scheduled for Tuesday, February 12,
the festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 10
p.m. Limited tickets are available on a first-come, firstserved
basis, the press release said.
Dallas Market Center
Dallas Market Center recently announced that the
January Total Home & Gift Market taking place
January 16-22, 2008, will offer buyers more new products
than ever before. From permanent showrooms to
temps, and across all product categories, thousands of
new product introductions will be the centerpiece of
the market, according to a press release from the center.
Additionally, buyers will experience the complete
marketplace and all it has to offer including the 19th
Annual ARTS Awards, the opening of KidsWorld on
the eighth floor of the World Trade Center, a 20th
anniversary celebration of The Gourmet Market, many
educational seminars, product demonstrations, walking
tours, and special events.

Angeles, the California Gift Show® will unveil a
“lifestyle-inspired” layout and a new show floor venue

TransWorld Exhibits, Inc.
If you are into the partying scene, new trends and creative
ideas for the party industry will be front and center
at TransWorld’s 24th International Halloween
Costume & Party Show (HCPShow) scheduled
March 16-19, 2008, at the Sands Expo & Convention
Center in Las Vegas, Nev., according to a press release
from TransWorld.
“This show has the largest selection of party products
in every style, color, and price point, featuring newly
released licensed products, as well as favorite themed
goods. It is this variety that makes the HCPShow a can’tmiss
event for the party buyer,” said Joe Thaler, chairman
and chief executive officer of TransWorld Exhibits,
Inc., in the press release. “Nearly 80 percent of the buyers
place orders at the show because of the variety and

Urban Expositions
Urban Expositions is gearing up for the second edition
of the Virginia Gift Show, which returns to the Virginia
Beach Convention Center from March 2-4, 2008.
Designed to meet the specialized buying needs of retailers
from eastern North Carolina to Delaware, the show
offers a cost-effective resource for their restocking and
new merchandise needs, according to a press release.
Attendees will be able to explore more than 400
booths showcasing a comprehensive product mix from
the industry’s leading manufacturers and sales representatives
in every product category, from general giftware,
tourist merchandise and beach apparel and resort
wear to home accents, tabletop, garden gifts, and much
more.

The 153nd semi-annual Portland Gift & Accessories
Show®, which takes place January 5-8, 2008, this year
boasts a new design to the exhibit floor and fresh manufacturers
and artisans, many of which use this event to
premier their product to the wholesale trade. Look for
an increased emphasis on “green” and “sustainable”
product this winter. In addition, show management
has put together a fabulous after-hours event and educational
programming.
