GLM®, a dmg world media business

Zoe Nemetz of Syracuse University won the Grand Prize in Surface Pattern Design for her personal stationery design “Fly Away,” in the SURTEX International Student Design Competition.

Nemetz’s designs included postcards, notecards, writing paper and envelopes. Her project won for its attention to graphic detail, universal appeal, upscale quality and outstanding presentation.

GLM® and Whereoware have collaborated to offer a state-of-the-art product finder, called the Online Catalog Gallery, on GLM gift show Web sites. The Catalog Gallery allows GLM tradeshow attendees to browse exhibitor catalogs or brochures online, and affords exhibitors the opportunity to show complete product lines online before, during and after a tradeshow - with full lead integration.

The 155th semi-annual New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®) returns to New York City, running Saturday, August 16, through Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Metropolitan Pavilion and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 & 94. Growth and refinement are planned in all nine NYIGF divisions, including an emphasis in Handmade on designer-makers of artisan craft and growth and enhancement of luxury lines across several divisions.

The Portland Gift & Accessories Show will kick off the summer buying season with a must-see showcase of handmade product by Northwest artisans, gifts and collectibles unique to the Pacific Northwest and new product launches by nationally recognized brands, May 31 - June 3, 2008, at the Oregon Convention Center. M & M Gift Shows

At the 2008 International Gift Exposition in the Smokies®, November 6th – 11th, buyers will delight in staying just feet from the entrance to the new Sevierville Events Center where the gift expo is held. The new Wilderness Resort at the Smokies® will be opening its doors in November, offering special show rates to all IGES buyers and exhibitors.

When finished at the show for the day, buyers and exhibitors can enjoy dinner and their favorite wines at the restaurant inside the hotel, splash around at the indoor waterpark or simply retire to one of the comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms to unwind.

The International Gift Exposition in the Smokies® is a wonderful place for gift, souvenir and resort buyers to mix business with pleasure, and the Wilderness Resort at the Smokies® is another great way of doing just that.

2008 Summer Fair

Following last year’s inaugural success, Summer Fair London returns to the stateof- the- art ExCel Centre from June 22-25 with a significantly expanded exhibitor base, including international brands never before seen in the United Kingdom. Urban Expositions

For retailers from the Mid-Atlantic region, the Philadelphia Gift Show is the perfect fit. Returning to the Greater Reading Expo Center in Reading, Pa., from July 20-23, 2008, the show assembles more than 1,000 booths displaying thousands of lines from national manufacturers and leading regional sales representatives. These resources, together with the show’s convenient location, inexpensive hotels, free parking and easy access provide retailers from Pennsylvania and throughout the Mid- Atlantic and Tri-State regions with a cost-effective, convenient way to restock best-sellers and gear up for the crucial third and fourth quarter selling seasons.

Returning August 2-5, 2008, to the Orange Country Convention Center’s West Concourse, the semi-annual Orlando Gift Show will offer Florida retailers an opportunity to explore more than 500 booths filled with the latest introductions from top manufacturers and major Southeastern sales representatives in every product category. As the largest and longest running temporary gift event in Florida, the Orlando Gift Show also runs concurrently with the Jewelry & Accessories Expo to offer tremendous cross-market buying opportunities for retailers.
