Minneapolis Mart Names New Executive Director

Ed Arion
The Minneapolis Mart has announced that Ed Arion has been hired as the new Executive Director. Arion’s background encompasses both retail and wholesale industries, visual merchandising, store and showroom planning and design and construction. For 10 years, he was Managing Director of Visual Planning and Display Services for Department 56 as well as enhancing the 56 brand as retail. This combination of experience gives a balanced approach to the needs of the Mart and its members.

The successful Minneapolis Mart is a rep association operated organization, where all the members have a vote in electing their Board of Directors and determining personnel policies, by-laws and procedures. The occupancy rate for showrooms has gone from 80 percent the past three years to 98 percent by March 2011.
