Michelle Barton Advances to Senior Vice President and Controller at
AmericasMart Atlanta
Michelle Barton has been named senior vice president and controller at AmericasMart Atlanta in a promotion elevating her role within the company’s financial operations and emerging business growth strategies, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of AmericasMart Atlanta and its AMC, Inc. parent entity.
Barton advances to the position following a 14-year tenure at AMC, most recently as vice president and controller.
Joann Miller-Marshall Named Executive Vice President of AMC Tradeshows
JoAnn Miller-Marshall has been named executive vice president of AMC Tradeshows in an advancement bringing all AmericasMart home, gift and apparel and LIGHTFAIR International sales under her direction, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of AmericasMart Atlanta and its AMC, Inc. parent entity.
Miller’s promotion follows a19-year AMC tenure during which the AmericasMart temporaries have grown exponentially under her leadership.

Joe Marr: Celebrating His 25th Anniversary with Silver Streak

On behalf of everyone at Silver Streak, CEO Mike Mallon said it gives him great pleasure to convey the company’s appreciation to Joe Marr on his 25th Anniversary with the company. Marr was new to the wholesale industry when he started with Silver Streak in October of 1986, but he knew how to sell and it didn't take him long to develop his own effective approach to the wholesale gift and jewelry business. Mallon said Marr has made invaluable contributions to the growth and image of Silver Streak. His knowledge and dedication has helped lead the Marketing Department to new heights. With his regular attendance at trade shows, customers have come to recognize Marr as the face of Silver Streak. The company wishes him all the best for future years with Silver Streak.
Jack Ryan Rejoins AmericasMart Atlanta as Chief Financial Officer
Jack Ryan returns to AmericasMart as acting Chief Financial Officer with the appointment signaling continuing senior management team strength and advancement in the company’s 50th-anniversary year, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of AmericasMart Atlanta and its AMC, Inc. parent entity.
Ryan rejoins AMC following his 2001 retirement from its presidency.
Aurora World Signs Licensing Executive Jack Morrow
Out of the Box founder and former Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA) President Jack Morrow has been retained as Aurora World Inc.’s new licensing agent. Morrow will identify and pursue licensing agreements on behalf of Aurora. He has a strong licensing background with plush and gift companies such as Applause and Dakin and was behind some of the industry’s most successful licensing and merchandising programs including The California Raisins and Flintstones.
