Michigan High School Team Donates Bedside Healers™ to Pediatric Patients

The Lake Orion High School volleyball program in Michigan donated Bedside Healers™ to pediatric patients at Beaumont Hospital in Troy last October. The gifts also included handwritten notes to the patients.

Bedside Healers™ are unique and innovative stuffed animals with Velcro straps that patients can easily attach to beds, IV poles, wheelchairs and more. Members of the volleyball program, along with coaches and parent representatives, presented 20 of the cuddly creatures at the hospital. Jason Peach, the owner and inventor of Bedside Healers, donated an additional 30 animals to the children at the hospital.



River’s Edge to Relocate to a New Facility

As River’s Edge wound down its 15th year in business, the company found itself outpacing 2012’s record-setting year by almost 40 percent. The increase was attributed to a remarkably loyal customer base, ongoing product development featuring new and unique merchandising and a comprehensive sales and marketing effort targeting prospective customers interested in specialty gifts and home décor.

This increase in business has not occurred without growing pains. After many years of unsuccessfully searching for a facility to get the operation under one roof, it was decided to build a new warehouse and offices. Ground was broken for a 123,000-square-foot facility in September 2013.

This move will make the company more efficient, organized, and readily available to service its valuable customers in a timely and accurate manner. The physical move will be a challenge, and sales order lead time may need to be extended, so the company is asking for the patience of its customers.
