ASD Las Vegas
The ASD Show will once again welcome the nation’s only conference dedicated entirely to independent retailers, the Independent Retailer Conference, to their August 3-6, 2014 show held in Las Vegas.
“The Independent Retailer Conference made their trade show debut at the March 2014 ASD Show, and we are looking forward to them returning to our August show. They are a fantastic addition to our show benefits, offering attendees strong retail education through hands on, retail expert engagement as well as they will deliver over 50 educational presentations,“ ASD Vice President of Marketing Camille Candella stated.
The Independent Retailer Conference is the nation’s only retail conference dedicated entirely to the unique lifestyle and responsibilities of independent store owners.
The producers of ASD Trade Shows recently announced they are set to launch a new regional sales opportunity, IMPULSE at NYNOW, staging at Pier 94 in New York, NY from August 16-20, 2014.
IMPULSE at NYNOW is a wholesale merchandise event to expand relationships for vendors specializing in on-trend specialty gift, affordable footwear and fashion accessories, travel/leisure products, and health and beauty items.

An expanded schedule of educational seminars – beginning with pre-show exhibitor webinar training and continuing with four days of on-site programming – will be offered at the summer 2014 edition of Artisan Resource®, Saturday, August 16, through Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City. Artisan Resource is a first-of-its-kind market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers, wholesalers and designers the opportunity to meet with international artisanal producers from around the world.
More than 100 home and lifestyle products, representing four key 2014-2015 design trends, have been accepted into the “Open House“ exhibit, which returns to the summer edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home+ Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®), August 16-20, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The third edition of Open House is presented cooperatively by NY NOW and media partner Progressive Business Media, publishers of Gifts and Decorative Accessories, Home Accents Today and Home & Textiles Today – and color, trend and e-commerce partner One Kings Lane.
A sizeable group of 25 cross-category home and lifestyle designers have been accepted into Accent on Design® for the summer 2014 edition of NY NOW™, the Market for Home + Lifestyle. Accent on Design’s juried collection of nearly 200 contemporary and innovative product suppliers—presented on Level 3 of New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center —runs Sunday, August 17, through Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
Gift for Life/
Gift for Life, the gift, stationery and home decor industries’ leading charitable organization, announced recently that the Gift For Life/National Stationery Show team has raised more than $24,000 for men, women and families who are living with HIV/AIDS. The team is just shy of its $25,000 goal, and donations were being accepted through June 13 at www.tinyurl.com/AWNYgiftforlife.
These funds, along with a generous matching grant of $5,000 from DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) will bring the team’s total funds raised for AIDS Walk NY to more than $30,000. At the start of the walk, the Gift for Life/National Stationery Show was ranked 16th among the event’s overall top fundraising teams.
In other Gift for Life news, it has been announced that the Seattle Sample Sale raised $23,000 for Gift for Life. The 17th Holiday Sample Sale took place in December and January and featured products from the Pacific Market Center in Seattle. Since 1992, the sale has raised more than $300,000 for Gift for Life.
The September 17-20, 2014 Las Vegas Souvenirs & Resort Gift Show is rapidly approaching sold out status, and industry leaders are slated to headline the roster.
As of early July, the show was already 94 percent sold out, with nearly 1,200 booths confirmed. The 2014 edition of the show will bring together its largest collection to date of top-name lines and new products. Returning to the Las Vegas Convention Center with a new Wednesday- Saturday date pattern, the national show for the souvenir industry will showcase the latest introductions from the biggest names in the business, including:
