Asia America Trade Show
The Asia America Trade Show Miami offers products from Asia, The Americas and worldwide. The show has two events in 2014: the Spring Show April 8-10 and the Fall Show, September 8-10.
Both shows are slated for the Miami Beach Convention Center in the hub of the Americas. The spring show will be held in Hall B, and the fall event will take place in Hall A.
The shows offer general merchandise, fashion accessories, apparel, consumer electronics, cellular, health and beauty, gifts and toys, souvenirs and value and variety goods.
Now in its fifth year, the event targets multi-product buyers from 43 countries. Over 8,000 buyers and hundreds of exhibitors take advantage of the value of attending.
Following the success of the 2013 show, ToyFest West 2014, March 9 – March 12, will again feature a floor plan designed to enhance the buyer’s experience. Attendees can take advantage of working with their own territory reps while viewing more than 700 lines with more than 3,000 new products seen for the first time on the West Coast. With a continued evolution focused on the buyer's experience, this year’s show will allow children under the age of 16 to attend with a parent who is at the show. Guidelines regarding this change of policy can be found on the new ToyFest West website, www.toyfestwest.com.
ToyFest West continually strives to maintain its status as an extremely valuable toy show, providing a professional atmosphere for colleagues to gather, work and have some fun. This year, WTHRA will host the annual Gala Event, acknowledging industry pioneers and celebrating vendors, reps and retailers alike. In 2014, WTHRA will be saluting Small Wonders, located in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., as the 2014 Retailer of the Year. Additionally, the show schedule will include Game Night, which will be held Monday, March 10, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. WTHRA will be providing free shuttles from the hotel to several stops on the Strip on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., allowing our show attendees to experience everything Las Vegas has to offer.
“ToyFest West is an important show for Toysmith because it has traditionally given us the chance to really connect with our customers. The pace of the show allows us to speak with and hear our customers’ individual needs. By having this time, we strengthen those relationships and often times discover new business opportunities,” said Jeff Bunkowske, national sales manager of Toysmith whose owners, Bill and Nancy Smith, were inducted into the WHTRA Hall of Fame at the 2013 Show.
The Las Vegas destination provides appealing amenities for all show attendees, from spas and world class cuisine to amazing shows and casinos. As an incentive to retailers and exhibitors attending the event: Stay at the South Point Hotel Saturday and Sunday (3/8 and 3/9) and get Monday night free. This offer is limited to the first 300 bookings (one booking per person.)

for Winter Market
NY NOW Preregistration Shows Double-Diget Increase
Pre-registration for the winter 2014 NY NOW™, The Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®), is outpacing the same period one year ago by 11 percent, with 31,000-plus individuals, representing 22,000-plus businesses from the United States and around the world planning to attend the market, Saturday, February 1, through Thursday, February 6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.
“Registration for the winter market has been steady, and we’ve seen a spike in retailer activity following the conclusion of the Christmas and New Year holidays,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. “Our year-over-year registrations are 11 percent ahead, and we expect several thousand more attendees to pre-register in the three weeks remaining before the opening of the winter 2014 edition.”
A majority of the 22,000-plus businesses registered to date are established retail enterprises, such as brick and mortar retailers, online retailers and cart/kiosk retailers. According to Falkenberg, “Some 1,500 of the pre-registrants are first-time registrants for the market, and we plan to welcome them with a series of pre-market webinars, onsite seminars and at-market ‘newcomers’ luncheons’ to help orient these newcomers to the New York market.” Information and registration is available online at www.nynow.com/programs.
Geographically, NY NOW registrants represent all 50 U.S. states, and to date, 50-plus countries are represented. According to Falkenberg, “One in every three winter 2014 market pre-registrants are from outside the region, making NY NOW a national market as well as an international marketplace.” He identifies Canada as the largest source of international pre-registrants, with South America, Asia and Europe also well-represented.
