The Asia America Wholesale Show

The 6th edition of the Asia America Wholesale Show, which will be held September 8, 9 and 10 at the Miami Beach Convention center, features over 150,000 wholesale products from Asia, the United States and worldwide. Products showcased will include general merchandise, apparel, toys, consumer electronics, souvenirs, gifts, housewares, novelties, cellular, kitchenware, sports, costume and fashion jewelry, fashion accessories, beauty and health, value and variety, tools and more.

ASD Las Vegas

Recently, ASD Las Vegas was approached with the idea of creating an ASD TV Shopping Show to air in top A & B television markets in late 2014. The goal of the innovation-themed program is to showcase ASD’s unique industry to millions of consumers and serve as a launching pad for new ASD exhibitor products.

As a steppingstone to the TV project, ASD has forged an agreement with The Big Pitch with Kevin Harrington, which will produce an event at the upcoming ASD Show in Las Vegas on Monday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 5. Kevin Harrington is one of the original “Sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank, as well as the founder of the company As Seen on TV.Com. Mr. Harrington will be the featured panelist, along with a group of fellow marketing and product development professionals.

The format of The Big Pitch event at ASD will be similar to that of the TV program. Qualified companies whose products are “ready for prime time” will privately pitch Kevin Harrington and the panel for five to seven minutes, after which all participants will receive invaluable feedback, possible television exposure, video footage of the pitch for their own marketing efforts and exposure through the attending media.  A handful of standout products will have the opportunity to step into the spotlight and play a featured role in the ASD TV Home Shopping program.

For more details on how your product can participate in the ASD Big Pitch, please contact Brian Hakan at Brian@thebigpitchtv.com.  He will respond to each applicant’s questions. The Big Pitch program is open only to ASD exhibiting manufacturers. Upon evaluation, products that meet the basic qualifications will be invited to participate; the investment to pitch Mr. Harrington and his fellow panelists is $550 for the first 25 companies, and $750 for each additional (this is to cover the cost of bringing in The Big Pitch team).

Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas Market’s lifestyle brands will expand by 50 percent on the 10th Floor of Building C this July with the addition of four new showrooms, sales agencies Aesthetic Movement and Keena and manufacturers K. Hall Designs and Mary Lake Thompson—17 micro showrooms showcasing design-driven lines— and the debut of a new PLUSH pavilion featuring children’s merchandise.

The Summer 2014 Las Vegas Market runs Sunday, July 27 to Thursday, July 31, 2014.

Key highlights for the summer Las Vegas Market include sustained growth in permanent and temporary furniture, gift and home décor resources, as well as category expansion and density building and a new Sunday-Thursday date pattern.

“Las Vegas Market is continuing to enhance and refine the market experience for both buyers and suppliers as we enter the second year of a three-phase strategic plan to establish ourselves as the leading cross-category market serving the furniture, home decor and gift industries,” said Scott Eckman, chief marketing and strategy officer, International Market Centers. “For July, we expect to continue the gains we’ve made over the past 18 months by expanding the depth and breadth of furniture, gift and home décor offerings and by continuing our sharp upward trajectory in attendance.”

In other news, the Las Vegas Market has announced that six leading suppliers of gift merchandise will open or expand showrooms for the upcoming Summer Market.

“Las Vegas Market continues to build momentum as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, and these six companies are the first of many additions and expansions we’ll be announcing for the Summer Market,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “Critical mass of vendors, concentration of related resources and record-breaking attendance growth is fueling demand not only from companies new-to-market, but also from current tenants looking to expand their showroom presence.”

Halloween & Party Expo

The Halloween & Party Expo is committed to the growth and success of balloon vendors, the balloon industry and the party industry as a whole. Therefore, show management is excited to announce that, beginning with the 2015 Expo, The Balloon Council is endorsing the Expo.

“The Balloon Council is highly respected in the industry for their efforts to educate and promote the value and safe handling of balloons to consumers and regulators,” said Jonathan Erwin of the Halloween & Party Expo. “So we are thrilled to receive this support and appreciate The Balloon Council’s dedication to the industry and the Expo.”

The Balloon Council is committed to ensuring the balloon industry has one strong voice, which advocates, educates, promotes and creates cohesiveness within the industry.

New Orleans Means New Excitement for Halloween & Party Expo

Out with the old, in with the New – New Orleans, that is. With the floorplan already more than 90 percent sold, new exhibitors registering weekly, and nearly 20 partner hotels selling through their rooms, the Halloween & Party Expo is ramping up for a fantastic first show in New Orleans, February 6 – 9, 2015 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (ENMCC).

The Halloween & Party Expo is the international showcase for all things party, costume, fantasy and Halloween, and New Orleans is arguably one of the most party-centric cities on the planet. Because they enjoy world-class celebrations like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, countless food and music festivals, and championship-level sporting events, the residents of New Orleans know how to have fun and throw a good party, making this city a perfect match for the Halloween & Party Expo in 2015 and beyond.

“We are thrilled about moving to a new city, and especially one with such a great reputation for its celebratory spirit and fun,” says Jonathan Erwin of the Halloween & Party Expo. “The facilities and hotel options are phenomenal, and their proximity to areas like the French Quarter will really add to the excitement during the show.”

The Halloween & Party Expo is the largest global show of its kind, highlighting thousands of products from the Halloween, Party, Fantasy Costume and other similarly related industries.
