Profiles for Excellent Sales Results

This issue features the year’s first edition of the semi-annual Profiles in Excellence feature. We hope you enjoy the 40-plus half-page stories that focus on a group of the industry's leading companies. You can read about firms that offer everything from apparel and candy to home décor and toys in this special advertising opportunity, which is a benefit to retailers and vendors alike.

The feature includes several profiles of jewelry companies, and this edition offers a special editorial focus on jewelry as well. Retailers at most leisure destination locations do well selling these easy-to-transport gifts, and we cover jewelry sales at college bookstores, museums and inspirational shops in the Jewelry Section. There is even a special sidebar offering tips to sell more earrings.

We also offer comprehensive coverage of personalized and name-dropped souvenirs, stationery, rock and mineral gifts, plush and toys, home décor, signs, baby gifts, apparel and more. In the issue you will find a wide array of store types covered, including those at colleges, museums, hospitals, zoos, aquariums, show caves and resorts as well as inspirational shops, boutiques, beach and party stores, independent toy outlets and more.

We hope the warmer weather brings visitors to your store, and that you benefit from pent-up demand created by a winter of challenging temperatures in many parts of the country.

Apparel is a category that could enjoy the benefit of such demand, as shoppers shed heavier clothing in favor of the lighter wearables typically associated with souvenir and gift purchases. These wardrobe items include T-shirts, scarves and beachwear, which are all covered in this issue.

SGN is always seeking out ways to improve both its editorial content and advertising offerings. We are appreciative of both negative and positive feedback, and welcome readers to send us their ideas and suggestions. Please email the editorial department at editorsgnmag@kanec.com, or the advertising sales staff at sgnmag@kanec.com.
